Gen 1: Rival was a dick and you actually wanted to crush his dreams, Red was a fucking badass and we cannot forget that legend
Gen 2: Furret existed. Also cool legendary doggos. Rival was still a dick and just wanted to beat your ass but like no. Ethan is best boi protect him
Gen 3: Two gangs arguing over water and rocks then you come in and fight them both. Rival wasn’t really your rival, he just wanted to fill the Pokedex.
Gen 4: PEAK OF POKEMON. Team Galactic was galaxy and galaxy shit is cool, your rival(Barry) was also your friend and even though you kinda killed his dreams he was happy for you and vowed to get stronger. Gen 2 remakes, my man- FURRET IS BACK.
Gen 5: Not as good as Gen 4, but hey, team Plasma. HEY, NEO TEAM PLASMA. Also Victini and Keldeo are cool. Two rivals in the first game woah- they were kinda blank tho. Rival one became a gym leader in the second game, and rival two who wasn’t really a rival considering she only fought you ONCE in the first game is now the professor's assistant.
Gen 6: Well, lacking in story… event was announced that never actually ended up happening, only like 70 new pokemon. Your rival was kinda back to being a dick. Easy to get lost in Lumiose City. But hey, look, character customization!
Gen 7: … I… wh… what is this? Why-? I don’t understand. Clothes are stupid expensive, tapus are weird, what’s with the weird Ultra beasts? That’s- i don’t like this one. Also Hau just… is dumb and annoying. Poipole is the only good UB.

Gen 8: …… No. Just- no. Large pokemon cuts, Furret is dead now, the legendaries have dumb designs like seriously who the hell just thought “Lets make it look like its holding a sword” DLCs to flesh out a half-finished game, meaning 60 bucks for the game then like another 60 for the rest of the game wtf? Hop is literally just a Galarian Hau- even his animations are just redone with a little more smoothness. Bede has daddy issues and the Chairman doesn’t ever wear pants. Oleana is like a yandere and only owns little anthropomorphic harlots. They had Pierce “singing” BUT THEY DONT HAVE ANY VOICE ACTING. Opal is creepy. Raihan and Leon are supposed to be rivals but its so obvious they're gay Marnie is a rebal and I don’t have that many issues w/ her. Rival sucks, unlike Blue you don't wanna kick his ass. Hop just keeps getting depressed and you end up feeling bad because he’s not even pulling a BARRY and at least trying to get stronger.
