I worked on the manuscript for the novel, "Music for New People" for two years. I thought I'd be able to knock it out in 90-days. Stupid writer! The original first draft was posted here at WattPad in its entirety -- 56 chapters. God knows how many pages. I surprised the hell out of myself writing this. I am revising the whole thing now and the new working title is MUSIC FOR NEW PEOPLE. Check out the revisions here.

This is not a tragic or dark story by any means. That was my intent. I don't think we need anymore darkness in the world right now. What surprised me, though, were the scenes of beauty and light and the sadness of hope and idealism. That stuff came out of nowhere, to tell the truth. I just wrote and stuff revealed itself. You'll see what I mean.

Follow Ivy Scattergood, her family, cousin Rita, and all around great guy Bailey Cooper through the summer of 2013. Ever notice how people Want one thing but maybe Need something else? That means no one's really who they think they are. What's up with that?

I've been a part-time freelance writer for over 30 years, publishing with everyone from The Harvard Business Review to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Kotori Magazine, and BioCycle. In addition, I was a contributing editor to In Business magazine for over a decade. My fiction has been published in a number of online magazines including WildViolet, ToastedCheese, and Sleep.

You can find my other work at Amazon, Nook, Kobo, iBooks, Smashwords, etc. My novel BEYOND THE WILL OF GOD is a paranormal mystery with questions about the power of improvisational music at its core. I've also published a collection of stories called IMPLOSIONS OF AMERICA. These days, I work as a contributing writer and columnist with TalkingWriting.com (TW).
