And something else just popped in my mind - you know those vehicle graveyards around Chernobyl? They could go to one and look for a relatively deradiated vehicle. I bet there are atleast a few not deadly or maybe even clean in each graveyard.

          Airstrike, some dogfighting over chernobyl (would really love it), tank, something more about the door that's leaking radiation (maybe there's a huge underground complex underneath it, who knows? and somebody has to explore it... woooo)
