Hi!  My name is DawnRae, I am from a very small town in south-central Indiana (Hope).  
I started writing poems about 25 years ago.  The first poem I wrote was for my Grandmother, whom I was extremely close to and cherished, for a surprise party at her Church where she was honored for over 75 years of service playing music.  I just woke up from a dead sleep, got a piece of paper and started writing about her and how much she meant to me, my thoughts and feelings started flowing through my pen and her poem was born.  My Grandmother loved the poem and told me that I had a "GOD given talent" and to never stop writing.  She also requested that it be read at her funeral.  The emotions are still overwhelming of how much those words affected me and still do to this day. 

 

Since I usually haven't had much money to buy gifts, I started being creative using my poetry as gifts to those I cared about and loved in the forms of:  Bookmarks, Scrolls, Crossword puzzles, Limericks, Haiku's and Poetry.  I would write about the person for the occasion using things I knew about them so they would know it was something unique, personal and that it was coming straight from my heart.  It meant so much more than a store bought card or gift and the responses I would get from the recipients were priceless.

 

When people started sharing the presents they had received from me that I had written for them, I started getting requests offering to pay me to write poems as gifts for their loved ones and community events.  That's why I decided to start a website to see if there's anyone else that would want to give a gift that will be perfect, everlasting and One-of-a-kind!
