Derek Belfield is an active duty Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps and an author of the novels Evolve: The Scourge Wars Book 1 and Adapt: The Scourge Wars Book 2. 

Additionally, he writes a webserial titled Grow that takes place in the same universe as his novels that is available on Wattpad, Royalroad, and his Patreon.

With a background and education in business and the military, Derek has leveraged that experience into writing realistic military fantasy in the LitRPG/GameLit genre. Unexpectedly, his books have landed him a place in  Amazon's top 100 Horror author category, a fact that he accepts with pride.

Derek Belfield has spent the last eight years of his life in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intelligence Studies (military), Cum Laude and is pursuing his Master of Business Administration from UNC Pembroke. Over his whole life, he has won contests in poetry, painting, and sketching.

Despite his accomplishments, Derek's wife still wishes he would do the dishes more.
