I like the book. Ever since watching Spartacus:Blood and Sand on television anything connected with gladiator stories will grab my attention in a big way. You have the same mixture in your story of sex and violence that the tv series has. Although I have some trouble imagining Harry Styles as a no-holds-barred gladiator! But that doesn't distract from the enjoyment of it all.
I still can't quite believe that men and women flocked to these human slaughterhouses but history tells us that they did. I wonder how I would behave if I was transported back then as a spectator. Would I walk off in disgust or sit there, with all the other people, transfixed by the blood and guts playing out in the arena! Makes us think about human nature in a deep way. We still have those blood-lusts but fortunately, it is siphoned off harmlessly into violent movies where nobody is actually harmed - like the the tv series Spartacus:Blood and Sand in fact.
Congrats. Maybe you should write a sequel. How about it?
