In my youth, I hiked above the
clouds on windswept mountains
and crossed the depths of the Grand
Canyon. I have walked the jungles
of Thailand, Malaysia, and Burma, and
the deserts of Mexico and Kazakhstan.
Worked on the Arctic Circle. I have
designed huge pits to mine gold and
I have designed and made petite,
dainty rings of gold. I have grown
many beautiful roses, but also I have
been pricked many times in my life.
Now I work with young men who
have been offered a second chance.
I was married for 40 years to
a woman whom I hold very dear.
She passed in the Spring of 2022. I
greatly enjoy writing poems (also
located on Poetizer - Dan Turner)
and short stories. In retrospect,
my life has been difficult, mostly
of my own making. But I am sure
I would not trade it for someone
else's life. My life journey is not
complete, but if an angel comes
for me tonight - I have no regrets.
