Well, that's it. I failed. I failed nanowrimo. I literally got barely over a thousand words and we were still figuring out the basics. Dang it. I wanted to get Long Lines rewritten for you, and more than that, completed. I'm sorry everyone that cares. I'll still be trying to keep writing and eventually get something out but it won't be this round of nano at least.

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while, and especially not writing like I said I would. Hopefully for nano this year I'll be rewriting Long Lines. I promised someone that we would do it together.
In related news, in the last two years I've gone from a jobless, kissless, loser without many friends and no best friend ever, to having a job, a best friend and fiance, and getting married in August and moving to a far better city. Life has gotten in the way of my time here in some of the best ways ever!

Wow, two new followers in the last two days. I don't know what happened to make you find me but whatever it is, I am glad to have you, even if there's not a lot of reason to follow an account like mine where the updates are so ... well nonexistent really. Thanks for the follows, kemper777 and teniakintan

Okay, long time since I wrote anything. Sorry about that everyone. But I have a plan. My best friend and I are tag teaming Long Lines for nanowrimo, a complete rewrite from the ground up. This time I'll be figuring out the plot first instead of just jumping in to the story and having nowhere to go from there. In the mean time I've been asking any truck driver I meet online for stories of notable things they've seen on their journey and I'll be including some of that as well as advice from them towards making the characters more real.
In other news, I have a best friend for the first time in my life and she's amazing. She's not on wattpad (yet) so you all don't know her, but trust me, she's awesome. Anyway, how are you all lately?

You vowed not to write again? What?! You'd better at least finish Long Lines; you have a really interesting start!

CliffJonesJr

It tends to do that.

@CliffJonesJr No, it's just that the story I had been writing before I decided not to write more of because it ended up prolonging an unhealthy crush I had. Don't worry, Long Lines is still going on. Life just got in the way for a bit.

Another update - I combined the second and third chapters. They were just too short. Not sure yet if the next chapter will be from her perspective or if I'll continue it from his. We'll see. Either way, I just thought I'd let you all know, the few of you that care haha.

Update - I finally picked a title for my story! "Long Lines" in reference to lines on the page and lines on the road.
I also updated the cover art. I took a picture from DeviantArt (with the creators permission of course) and edited it a bit. It went from day to night and I turned on the neon, all in GIMP.

I've been thinking that my chapters are too short. Should I combine the second and third chapters into one? I feel like I should. I was going to have all three chapters smooshed into one but I like the first chapter as a sort of book jacket hook kind of thing. It doesn't feel too short for an introductory chapter to me. I'm playing around with this in my word processor and seeing if I like it, but let me know what you think.

Today I found out my story passed a milestone - 600 reads! Thanks, Imgur - I could have never done it without you reading my story after I insulted you for being the idiots you are. :) You're my favorite idiots!

I still have some things to work out before I get back to writing the next chapter, but from here on, I can use plenty of suggestions on what fun things there is to do on a road trip across the country from, say, Pennsylvania to colorado via Oklahoma and then Kansas. (I'd avoid Kansas, but there's a specific scene I thought of that I want to put in that is a very surreal experience when driving through Kansas at night) If anyone has some good ideas that you think could fit the story let me know.
