Hatena is the title of my main project. The word means "question mark", which is why I chose it was the name.

One of main themes of this story is the unknown, and the different ways people respond to not having answers. Some people try really hard to hold onto control, while others surrender completely. There are healthy and detrimental ways to do both, but it's always important to try to find that balance.

If you're religious, you might be familiar with the serenity prayer: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference".


The song "Drive" by Incubus is another example of these themes being put into words (i.e "whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there, with open arms and open eyes"). 


Themes aside, one of my goals with Hatena is to tell a story containing the things everyone loved about both The Last Airbender and Attack On Titan, and creating a balance between both that fully integrates everything that made these stories impactful. Some parts of the story will be heavy and tragic, but there will also be plenty of soft and lighthearted moments to get you invested in the characters and their dynamics.
