"She was everything. She was nothing. She was the sweetness of a summer night stretched too long, singing a ten o'clock horizon. She was the rank breath of autumn decay, of molding logs and fragmented leaves. Her heart was big, but it faltered; her mind was quick, but it miscalculated. There was uncertainty in her veins -- at least, I hope there was -- as she curled her toes around the brink of oblivion, smiled, and let the wind lead her to the stale concrete of the street below."

I dropped by to thank you for adding By Way of the Sea to your reading list, and ended up falling in love with what you have posted of Company of Ravens! It’s SO fascinating and I am really enjoying it!

Hi, lune_serein. I was just wondering how long it took for people to start finding out about and reading your works when you first got on Wattpad. I would just like to know how long I should expect to wait before I can start worrying that I'm not getting many reads because I'm not good enough! Thanks. orcapod

@lune serein Thanks so much! I'm not a very confident person, so it's nice to hear that it takes a long time even for the best of writers, aka, you! Thank you so much for reading my works, and leaving such nice comments. It really made my day to find them. I really enjoy your books, and I'm looking forward to reading your new one - it sounds really good! Thanks again for everything. Keep writing such great books! orcapod

@orcapod Whoops, sorry I missed this! First of all, worrying about a lack of reads of votes is the last thing that you should be thinking about. Read some articles about creative writing. Look up tips. Listen to your favorite authors' creative processes. I've read some of your writing, and it's quite intriguing and well-written! Please don't fret. When I first joined Wattpad, it took a long time before I got any attention at all. Most of my first novels are safely hidden in the 'drafts' section. In fact, that's exactly where I found The Fault In Reality when I decided to give it another go! Its first version never got past 500 reads. It's going to take time and dedication. For me, it took about a year for anyone to seriously read my books. Over this time period, I refined my writing style and learned a lot as a person. Now I've collected a couple of really dedicated, awesome readers (*cough cough* @NovemberRider @redbadge @jadewolf334 ) who are so lovely and encouraging and read all the stupid crap I write. So keep writing! Do it for yourself, and don't worry about 'reads' or 'votes'. Getting caught up in numbers is never a good thing.

Your books are amazing! I wouldn't be surprised if you turned out to be a well-known author! I really enjoy reading your writing. I recently joined Wattpad, and, although a few people have seen my works, not many people know about my short stories. Do you have any tips on getting your work more exposed? Thanks so much for all the brilliant stories you've done!

Thank you so much! I will definitely try your suggestions. Keep writing those amazing stories!

@orcapod You're too kind! :) I've been on Wattpad for a few years now, and readers have definitely come with seniority. That being said, there are a few things I've noticed that can help a person get discovered. My favorite method is simply commenting on other books. Often people will check out the profile and works of their readers -- I know I do. Another way to get some feedback on your stories is by going to the Wattpad "clubs" and selecting the one called "Improve Your Writing". There is a critiquing forum where authors offer to critique one other's books. This can get your stories comments, votes, and will also help you to fix any plot holes and polish your writing. I hope this helps!

I'm so sad, I finished fault in reality. That was an amazing book! One of my favourites on wattpad. You should enter it for the wattys awards if you haven't already! You have a talent for writing, I love your style and how you write. Keep up the amazing work ^^ -calmwolf

Same, when I was younger i tried to write stories but I found it to hard to finish them unless it was a school project. I still have trouble finishing stories but wattpad has made me want to write more. I try and take the time to comment on people's stories and discussion boards since I know that encouragement and comments (helpful or praising) and mostly appreciated. ^^ calmwolf
