In South Africa there are rhinos being poached left right and center!
Since the first of January more than 90 rhinos have been killed!
Last week there were three rhino's killed inside a sanctuary, two cows and a bull. One of the females was pregnant, while the other already had a calf. The caretakers said that it was unlikely that the calf would survive, seeing as it was dependent on her for survival, and would have been for another three years. The pregnant female was shot in the stomach, and it left a gaping wound as big as a soccerball. The cow was left to bleed to death, killing both her and the unborn calf. All three of the rhino’s had their faces cut off, as the base of the horn, which rests close to the bone, weighs more and therefore will be worth more money.
