Good news! I got my KDP account back!
Bad News. All my paperback Manuscripts were unpublished. However the final EBook versions are still available.

Idk how to feel about this since I used KDP specifically to make my books available in physical format. Ugh. Guess I'll keep looking into D2D.

Just letting you know, Amazon still isn't showing your books. The links I have saved don't work, and searching your name comes up with wetsuits. Do you want us (the readers) to bitch at Amazon?

@DarkSparx yay! So happy to hear that. Did they ever provide you info on what the issue was? I talked to some author friends of mine and the only suggestion they had was unpublish the last 25% of each of your books from WP and point people to the Kindle book as Amazon would consider the free version a direct cut into their possible profits (due to the free version having nearly the same content as the paid version, just maybe 10% difference). I didn't bother passing that on as you'd already lost your account.

Hi! I just wanted to thank you for agreeing to publish your book on the Hells website! I was the one that requested it and I greatly appreciate you agreeing to it! I wanted to PM you this as I don’t want the websites name out and about but I didn’t realize Wattpad got rid of that feature in 2024 (haven’t been back for awhile because I quit it). Again, I’m so glad you added “And Then There Were More” to the website!

I noticed you haven't updated in a while. I remember when you used to have almost daily updates. It was fun to come home and know i always had something to look forward to. I've been reading your books since 2024. And now that I think about it isn't very long. I know you said you're retiring soon and you're probably stressed about KDP, but i really wanted to let you know that I'm so grateful you wrote all these stories. They helped me a lot when i was working through my own identity. Thank you. I hope you're doing okay and i wish you all the best.

DarkSparx

@Bithboy Thank you so much! And I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed my work thus far! To be honest, I'm only going to be taking a break. Odds are that I'll keep writing. I just posted another chapter today and still have to edit the next two. So I'm not gone yet!

I started writing on Wattpad for the fun of it and I'm trying to remind myself that I was never in it for the money in the first place. It's just upsetting that I had my dreams of self-publishing shattered so suddenly, but I'll get over it.

The drop in readership has also been affecting me. My stories went from millions of reads to barely 10k with my latest novel, but that's my own fault. I don't know how to "write to market" and I'll need to work on that. I just had a friend help me rework the synopsis of "Until Death Do Us Part", but since the story is almost complete Idk if it'll help the readership. Hopefully the next novel will do better when I get to it.

Ty for checking in with me though! It took me a few days to get to this but I do appreciate it very much! It's just a slump I gotta get over.

KDP Escalated my case to the Executive Customer Relations Team!

...And they're still refusing to elaborate on why my account was terminated. <.<
They did give me a little more information, and said that my books broke their content guidelines. Before now, all they said was "Activities on your account were found trying to manipulate our services". And then gave me a link to their Terms and Services.

Well I checked the Content Guidelines and didn't think my books broke any rules. But one thing in their guidelines says they don't tolerate violence or anything that advocates terrorism/hate speech/natural disasters or abuse against children.

Now I'm thinking the issue is with my latest published work, "When Worlds Collide". Because blowing up a government facility sort of counts as terrorism. And in, "And Then There Were More" There's a lot of discrimination between demons and humans (which is resolved by the end of book 2). Plus the major spoiler for "Bonding With The Enemy" which technically could be considered as doing harm towards children. (Even though the intent is to put a stop to it)

So in other words, my books are too political for Amazon KDP. Go figure.

Yeahh KDP is like., infamous for its shitty treatment of writers so no surprise there. I personally wouldn’t recommend anyone to work with em

@_Practically_Useless Tysm! From what I've heard, Ingram Sparks is better to work with and you can speak to a real person for issues. You can also still publish to KDP through them but IDK how that'll work since KDP doesn't like my controversial content.

_Practically_Useless

@DarkSparx atleast i now know not to publish there lol, hope things get sorted for you.
Also, their loss ‍♀️ yoube written some of my FAV stories like literally ever
