Usually, books I read are 8+ hours these days, yours being 2 hours was an anomaly. I liked the book, bloody nature, leans into evil, guessing that keeps you reading who crosses who first and gut wrenching weakness.
I'd owe most of my critique to length in places, nothing wrong with quick one. I'd leaned into the unique values more as its a familiar tropes/storyline, fighting style details, actions repeated when in the thick of it only your King or Queen could do. The betrayal of the Advisor, not personal enough, give scenario he helps but red herrings of his true nature. Her gut wrenching weakness breakdown felt out of character, there was no signs leading up and she loves gore, the roots for that needed planting earlier, just one line at least.
Overall, solid works and really offered something little bit new into the library. I look forward to the improvement in your future works.
