Hello all. Writing in 2026 has been a struggle let me tell you! I am working to finish my "Saying No" Manuscript, and have been bogged down by one chapter very close to the end. (Why do endings always give me fits? X( )
I have started and stopped on several smaller projects, including the Midnight Rider story I started posting earlier this year of late last year and the newest Jacob/Brenda vampire tale "Intentions". None have really stuck with me. I haven't given up persay, but they are not going smoothly!
Not helping the situation is the loss of my father back in February and the worry over my mother's situation in the aftermath. It's been a very busy couple of months, and it's left little time for creative brain wanderings.
On top of all of that, the place I typically post my stories seems to be dying a very slow, neglected death. So I am going to make more of an effort here again in the hopes that I can find an audience who is interested in my style/genre of writing.
TL:DR - I am reposting "Saying No is Harder than it Sounds" here with the revised material. Please leave me comments, suggestions, or ask questions! I'm hoping I can get the manuscript complete before the end of the year.

Hi all... I know, I have been sporadic to the utmost when it comes to posting here.

Guess the lack of traction for my works has something to do with it. (No pity parties, just an observation of facts). It gets harder and harder to shout into the void hoping for just an echo in return.

Wattpad, it seems, has a very particular clientele and finding an audience with prose that doesn't include a romance hook seems to be getting more and more difficult to find.

Never really gravitating toward the genre myself, I don't really write it. (I have relationships in my stories, they just aren't necessarily the focal point of the story).

I mean my favorite author growing up was a woman who took a man's pseudonym so she could write science fiction and get taken seriously in the 50's and 60's, even those didn't really have romance aspects.

So I am mulling whether it's worth continuing to post my novel WIPs here, or whether I just fall back to FictionPress where I can see what my audience is doing, and where I get feedback on a more regular basis. If I decide to discontinue posting here I may pop in with more drabbles as I get them written. Those seem to be something people were interested when I was posting regularly.

I truly am grateful for those who followed me here, those who read and reviewed my works. I've made some very good acquaintances here. I am also very grateful to have found this place in that I have found some stories I never would have been exposed to if not for Wattpad.

Whether I continue to post my stories or not, I will be keeping my profile, because I still have people whose stories I'm very much interested in continuing to read!

I will post again when I make a final decision on all this. Still pondering.

Hello followers! Wanted to drop a note here to let you know that I revamped the prologue to Saying No because I completely omitted Michael's 18th birthday (which would have fallen on the summer between Relations and Saying No.) Please take a moment to read it again if you like. The basic story is the same, so you're not missing a ton if you don't want to reread.

For those of you wondering why I haven't posted a whole lot in the past few weeks, the cover above (or below) should say it all.  I am in the process of editing my latest short story collection "Tales of Victor Sierra" which I am now doing final proofs of.  Thanks for those who have been patiently awaiting more Saying No or Nathan's Tales!  Hopefully once this is out of the way I will have better headspace for those efforts. The story will go live on September 30th, but the Kindle Preorder is live now!

Good Morning! Several bits of news! First off I have posted two new stories!
This is the Way the World Ends is the first of them. As a sequel to Tales of Victor Sierra, it extends Jacob's and Enrique's story as they try to survive the nuclear accident in 2403. https://www.wattpad.com/story/339075784-this-is-the-way-the-world-ends

The other is "Saying No" the fourth installment to Michael's journey through high school has begun! Michael's senior year isn't getting any easier when he hosts a mutant from Japan - or that she's seven feet tall without her wings. https://www.wattpad.com/story/340120579-saying-no-is-harder-than-it-sounds

The other news is I will be pulling Midnight and Relations down (For very different reasons). Midnight is out of time with the season (And really gained no traction). Relations is going into private beta to prepare it for publishing. Thank you to everyone who read them! Time to refresh the offerings!
