It's my birthday (17, yo!) and I'd just like to thank you all for 1k reads! The new chapter will be up at some point soon but not today for obvious reasons. Love you all.
Alright, so I get why not everyone likes filler chapters, but they are very important. They may not seem important when you read them, but they're always important. At least the ones I write, and I honestly hate the bad rap they get. Not everything needs to be fast paced and action filles, you know? It isn't an actions story, and those so called "filler" chapters are providing foundation for future events. They shouldn't get as much of a bad rap. It's still a chapter the author put a lot of effort into and so having tons of readers just comment, oh this was a filler chapter and I don't see why this is necessary hurts because 1) the author knows what is necessary because they are the one writing the story and 2) without "filler" chapters, it would be action scene after action scene and not be realistic.
And don't get me started on when people decide to themselves after reading three chapters if a character's actions are realistic or not. You are not the author, so keep your opinions to yourself regarding that. You haven't even read all of the chapters that are published.
@DatBookNerd I have a "filler" chapter in REM World that only depicts a flashback of Miles and Julian when they first met. It offers no new information to the readers at all and ,honestly, I'm not sure if it should technically be in the book. But I put it in there anyway, because I would personally want to see that if I was on the other side and reading. I agree with you. These chapters have their merits and they need no justification. I cannot understand why readers complain. Was the chapter not enjoyable? Is this something you didn't care to learn about the characters? If that's so, I believe readers could possibly notate that in their comments to help us understand their disdain for the chapter.
