I grew up in California's Gold Country, where abandoned mines, small towns, and long memories sit side by side. I studied chemistry to understand biology, and kept going until I found myself working on gene regulation and alternative splicing in neurons.

I've since taught chemistry internationally, where explaining complex systems to people with very different backgrounds became part of daily life. Over time, that turned into a habit of thinking in models, systems, and unintended consequences.

I write speculative fiction because it's the only space large enough to explore how power, fear, technology, and human choice collide-and how ordinary people live inside those collisions.
