Okay just need to rant because I saw a trailer for a new horror movie.
It is Black Christmas (2019), a remake of Black Christmas (1974) which has had a remake Black Christmas (2006).
For context I will refer to the movies as the year they came out in. (So the original I will call 1974, etc.)
1974 was a classic movie, one of the first-ever slashers and it was Christmas themed to boot. (And Canadian.) Everyone liked it and it was fine by its self as a little snapshot of 70's horror. It was about a group of girls in a sorority house being stalked and killed by a mysterious killer who tormented them with absolutely creepy phone calls.
But then in the early '00s when every franchise was being remade, we got 2006. A poorly made remake with none of the charm of the original. It is on the lower end of the remake scale. It was about a group of girls in a sorority house being stalked and killed by a mysterious killer who tormented them with subpar creepy phone calls.
And now we have 2019. It is about a group of girls in a sorority house being stalked and killed by a mysterious killer who turns out to be the professors and dean of their university who are killing kids for a sacrifice to something or other who are tormenting them with somewhat creepy phone calls.
I have only seen one trailer for 2019.
It was two and a half minutes long.
I have practically seen the entire movies.
It is a Blumhouse, so it will not be that good.
If it manages to surprise me, I will eat a book.
Thank you for coming to my rant.
