Slight rant warning!
Fake friends drive me absolutely insane. Is it hard to simply pick up the phone, give your friend a call, and ask how they are doing? Does it really require that much effort? I don't think so.
You know, I used to think that I had a real friend who genuinely cared about me. But then I went through a really rough patch in my life. I faced hatred, my relationship ended, and I felt lost and alone. And guess did she reach out to check in on me? No.
I realized then that she was only my friend when she needed me. When I needed her, she abandoned ship like rats. Real friends will be there through thick and thin. They will show up, even if you are not the life of the party. They will ask about your day, your week, your life. They will care about your heartbreaks.
I'm so tired of people who claim to be my friend but can't even be bothered to send a simple text message. "Hey, how are you?" That's it. Is that really asking too much? Apparently to the fake friends, it is.
Well, you know what? I'm done with that. I'm done being someone's fake friend. From now on, if you are not putting in the work, then I'm not going to waste my time on you. My time and energy is too valuable to spend on people who don't actually care.
