I have an extensive background in drawing and painting and am familiar with many styles, media and techniques. I worked as a portrait and landscape artist for many years, and decided to use these skills to make book covers and illustrations as I have a great fondness and admiration for literature in all its forms, and enjoy the process of creating images to accompany stories, characters and themes.
I use traditional media and techniques in creating cover designs but also use photographic and digital manipulation much of the time.
My early influencers in art were fantasy illustrators such as Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, and the Hilderbrandt brothers. Though I developed a passion for all forms of painting over the years from Botticelli to Freud.
I live in a rural part of the county of Norfolk in the South East of England - just a few miles outside of the city of Norwich. The quietness and remoteness of my home suit my work ideally, and I moved here for that very reason.
When I'm not in the studio you will find me in the kitchen or the garden, and in the evenings when I should be reading you will probably find me watching a movie, as I am a great lover of film throughout its history.
