Hello and thanks for stopping by!
I'm a cheerful English author with butterfly mind who writes all sorts of things - memoir, short stories, flash fiction, non-fiction how-to books for authors, plus various journalism.
"Quick Change", my first collection of flash fiction (very short stories) was published on National Flash Fiction Day 2014, and one of my stories was also included in this year's official National Flash Fiction Day anthology, "Eating My Words".
My first memoir is an impassioned but upbeat account of how my family came to terms with a diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes for both my husband and our only child: "Coming To Terms With Type 1 Diabetes". Issued as an e-book for World Diabetes Day 2013, it'll be published as a paperback for WDD 2014.
My first book for authors is "Sell Your Books!" - helping all authors, whether trade published or self published, to, er, sell more of their books. (Bit of a theme developing here - I do like straightforward book titles!) I'm now working on a companion volume, "The Author's Guide to Blogging".
With my ally in ALLi, Dan Holloway, I co-authored the group's campaigning guide book, "Opening Up To Indie Authors", designed to help self-published authors gain a higher profile alongside their trade-published authors - and to encourage other members of the book trade to recognise the high quality of the best self-published books and to value indie authors.
I'm Commissioning Editor of the Alliance of Independent Authors' (ALLi's) blog of self-publishing advice: http://www.selfpublishingadvice.org. I also write my own blog of book marketing and promotion advice, Off The Shelf Book Promotions, which you can find at http://www.otsbp.com.
So as you can see, I'm always busy, and always flitting about in different directions. Although my name is apparently Hebrew for "bee", to reflect my butterfly mind, I'm still putting a beautiful butterfly on the cover of "Quick Change"!
