One afternoon, watching Siskel and Ebert At The Movies at my mother's feet; I was shocked to the very depths of my little kid core. You see, I'd always loved movies, books, plays, stories of all stripes; even though I sorta knew they weren't true.
But I guess in my head, the characters were. Because on that day when I twigged that Han Solo and Indiana Jones were the same person...it blew my tiny mind. All aspects of movie storytelling have obsessed it ever since.
