Don't get me wrong...Words of affirmation are wonderful.
I'm currently reading a book that is fluffy. Sometimes to the point of being cringe . And, chapter upon chapters of words of affirmation. It's to the point that I'm starting to skim and skip most of the chapter. FL is wonderful , beautiful, amazing, kind hearted, smart, adorable, all powerful and perfect in every way.
          	Okay.
Dear author, are you having a hard time? Are you writing from a bad place and are expressing what you would want to hear? What you wish you could do? Creating a world of peace and love.
When it is so 'over the top', I almost feel like it could be a cry for help.
If so, you keep on keeping on. If you put yourself out there; that is a brave thing to do. But, in my experience, if you are looking for validation (specifically from Internet strangers) be careful. In reality anymore, 75% of people are a$$holes. The percentage goes up when they have the anonymity of the Internet to hide behind.
Be kind. It doesn't hurt one bit.
The rest of you all, when the temptation is there to be a meanie. Don't. Go take a nice shower or pet a cat. Smile at a random stranger. Eat a piece of fruit. Take a nap.
It's getting late and my brain is refusing to brain anymore. Weird random rant is over. Hugs to everyone.

I'm stewing on a subject. When an author puts a plug for their own book in the comments of another authors work.
          Is it tacky and shameless?
I've received personal messages inviting me to check out an author's story. It was a similar genre to a story I was reading and actively commenting on. That was fine.
But, if you're reading a werewolf dark romance, and someone pops into the comments "Check out my My Hero Academia fanfiction!". ಠ_ಠ
          Huh?
Even if it's the same genre, I personally feel, that you are trying to ride the other authors 'coat tails' and benefit from their hard work and talent.
Random thoughts as I sit here looking out the window on a rainy Thursday.
          (Sigh)
Hope you have a wonderful day.

@ChubbyLiv I was much more critical when I first got on here as well. But, I did it here in my personal conversations. I also never called an author out. I just did it anonymously. 'Things that drive me crazy in a story ' type things. I guess that's what I'm still doing. LoL

@DeeDee7701 You can always share your ideas of the story and get some insight from your followers. Unique starts are definitely hard to come up with, so don't get discouraged by it.

@DeeDee7701 You should definitely share more of your thoughts as you read. (^^)d I read a lot too, but don't dare to be as critical as I used to be. I remember writing ranting reviews in the past, and they were so therapeutic to me but probably traumatic to lots of authors. I ended up deleting it. (;゚∇゚)

Hey Dee, can you tell me how you felt about my story personally?
Do you think my story is lagging or boring or any negatives, etc?

golden_rose_22

@DeeDee7701 Thank you, Dee I was trying to improve the characters, but that version chapters were getting longer and longer, so I was trying to minimise the content of the book to be shorter, but maybe in the future, I would try to improve the already written characters, so you may be able to enjoy the story more❤️❤️❤️

I very much enjoy reading your story. I'm retired and spend my free time reading. I enjoy peeking into the lives of the ladies living 'the dream' with their hunky beastmen husbands. And, I very much look forward to the updates. I have read a few stories that I wished could go on forever. Follow the lives of the children or give the MC a very long life.

If you are looking to publish a book to sell. Yes, there would need to be adjustments/editing. There are many words that are misused. Plot holes, and things move very quickly Many of the mates I feel that their character could be better developed. Not just " the system said yes, so yes." Ta-da New mate. There are a lot of mates. Each one interesting in their own way. With all the characters, it needs to be a very long book so we can see each character as individuals and not just a filler in the harem.
Whereas I understand that this is a platform for new or aspiring authors to get exposure and experience. Therefore, I try to encourage growth and give positive feedback. And limit any critiques.
I will end by saying, you have set up an imaginative plot. You have developed some amazing, original characters. And have a great base to develop the story into an amazing book. I saw that you re-uploaded the story. I haven't reread it, so I don't know if anything has changed.
Don't give up! I will cry if you give up ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ you are doing great work.
            Dee

I've kept up with a few of the stories I follow from a second account I had to create. But, I've missed a few over the past 3 weeks. Life threw my family a curve. My younger brother passed away somewhat unexpectedly 3 weeks ago. Of course, our Mother was practically inconsolable. (For context, my brothers and I are middle aged+ adults. But, a mother's love doesn't fade just because you have a few birthdays.)
And Dad has been suffering from Alzheimer's for quite a long time. So, several times a day, we would have to explain about my brothers passing, and watch him relive the news like he was hearing about it for the first time.
My mother is one of the most amazing people I've ever met. While dealing with her own grief, still answering my father's never ending questions. I took Dad on a lot of "Daddy -daughter" dates to give Mom a break. That won't end, just because I have returned home. He got used to having me around again (•‿•) but spring has sprung, and my poor yard needs mowed. So I'll have to split my time between both places.
It's funny how things work out. I sold my home across the state, and moved closer to my parents less than a year ago. My mom has needed me several times since the move. I'm just glad I can return just some of what my parents gave me, growing up.
Not everyone is blessed with good parents. It took me becoming a parent myself, to truly understand and appreciate the parents I have. (⊃。•́‿•̀。)⊃ Now, go hug your Momma!

@DeeDee7701 I hope you and you are family can pull through this hard time, Dee, and I'm glad you were strong for your parents at this time when they needed you.❤️❤️❤️

Let me start by saying I fully understand that I am reading stories for free, on a free website, written by amateur writers.
          That being said...
Maybe, don't state the date of your next chapter update. When your followers don't get said update, though I would never be mean about it, I am disappointed.

Whew I hadn't ranted in a while. I usually just go back and delete them after a bit. I'm all for uplifting others. Put a little positivity out there. It'll come back to you

@DeeDee7701 That's such a nice rant, many are much harsher (≧▽≦)
