The Story of the Story:
I (Mason) have been thinking about the Apocalypse, pretty much since the 2016 election, thoughts which really grew during the summer with more time (and better visibility of the landscape). In the beginning of the school year the the conclusion of the general election, my thoughts became a plan that I shared with all of my friends, many of which make an appearance in these stories. (To be honest, it's a pretty good plan that had to be basically stripped down for the story)
However, despite my legitimate preparations, the chance of an actual Apocalypse became plainly unlikely, so I was left with a choice: I could either scrap the project entirely, or turn it into what is basically a life fan fiction.
To be honest, it's hard to explain, it's like Historical Fiction, except it's based in the future, it's definitely fiction, because it hasn't happened, but it's based in a premise that was a perversion of reality. So yeah, that's how I would describe these stories, a perversion. That's gonna sell nicely.
Anyways, after I decided to turn it into a fictional story where the entire plan (scaled down and stripped for storytelling purposes) and I approached my best friend, Addie, with the hope that she would join me, since in the scenario she would play a pivotal role, and she basically swept the project off it's feet. What was a practical plan for the Apocalypse became a romantic, gruesome story of human nature, the perversion of love, the utilization of fear, and the eradication of innocence. The Hero's, Mason, Addie, are sucked into this disgusting void that they find themselves desperately trying to claw their way out of to the life they once had. In the beginning, the hero's were essentially exactly the same as their real life counterparts, but after I handed a reign to Addie, the characters grew separate from us, now they are a character, drawn from reality, but twisted into the shaped they find themselves to be in the story.
