He began to show interest in fighting strong foes, especially Issei, despite the clear difference in power. Riser states that he does not mind losing, saying instead that he will use it a stepping stone to get stronger which is another sign of his maturity.

@Ghostminati69 I just remembered something rias' ex-fiance riser goes through a redemption after getting beaten against issei and actually tried to comfort ravel when issei supposedly died.
