"Max, come back!" A deep voice rang through Sean's ears. Weak from the great amout of blood loss, he was barely able to lift his head to see the small dog barreling toward him. The dog met with the nearly unconsious man a few moments later, sniffing him, as if he were a raw piece of meat. A man, who Sean supposed was lost wandering dog's owner approached less than a minute later. He quickly scooped his dog up, "God, what happened to you?" The man chained the dog to a nearby post and came running back over to Sean. He slowly took the shirt off of his wound, and what he saw the blood, he had a peculiar reaction. Sean would have expected shock, but the man looked relieved. "You'll be fine, buddy. I'll call my friend, and he'll help you. He's a... doctor." Sean sighed. He was finally going to be ridden of his pain. "Hey, get me off of this thing," another female voice called from a distance. "Shut it, Max!" the man yelped, "We've got a new guy." 'Max?' Sean thought. Why was this man responding to a female voice with his little dogs name? It pecked at his mind for a moment, but the pain soon brought him back to his current surroundings.
