An aspiring author (aren't we all?) who will always believe that the pen is mightier than the sword, and that knowing how to place a few well-chosen words is the greatest skill there is.
I love to write absolutely anything that catches my fancy, but hold a particular love for the Fantasy and Sci-Fi genres, and wish they'd get out of the ghetto and be taken as Serious Writing already.
I love to read anything written reasonably well, and if I'm bored I'll widen the definition of "reasonably well" to include anything with a good idea at its heart. Fantasy and Sci-Fi definitely hold my attention here as well, but I've also become a fan of alternate history fiction recently.
I hold a deep and abiding love for humanity, am an optimist at heart, and firmly believe that the world can and will get better so long as people do something about it. Stories with happy endings, therefore, are a favorite, but I'll love any story so long as it's written well.
If it's written really exceptionally well then I won't care if you kill off the main character, his cat, his dog, and his pet goldfish.
Finally, I welcome any criticisms and all comments, because - as has been previously mentioned - I am an eternal optimist, and believe that the Constructive Criticism isn't something passed around in wishful whispers on dark corners of the Internet.
And what Hamlet said with sarcasm, I say with conviction:
What a piece of work is a man!
How noble in reason,
How infinite in faculties,
In form and moving how express and admirable!
In action how like an angel,
In apprehension how like a god!
The beauty of the world-
The paragon of animals.
