hi! I totally get what you mean in your movement or whatever it is to collect the stories and I understand what it is: but also fanfiction is not plagiarism if your just using the TV show to reference it and people just do it for fun. it's a carbon copy to the show because people are just writing for fun.And sometimes coming up with an outside storyline isn't fun. you're gonna read all the fan fictions of Cobra. Kai, except they're all going to be like the show, because people are all referencing the same piece of media and just using the show. that's in every fan fiction, ever, basically, unless they're using their own storyline, which not everybody wants to do. for example, some people write fan fiction for fun and don't care about how closely related it is to the show. like, for example, I just wrote mine for myself. And added an oc I thought would be interesting in there and my book just happened to get popular - which motivated me to keep writing about it rather than just keeping it in my head, cause people enjoyed it. if using media for fan fiction was plagiarism, it would be illegal to write fan fiction. if you don't want something that sounds exactly like the media, they're referencing or involving.Then, you should look for an AU book and not a book following the seasons. like I said, I get what you mean and everything but I think you're forgetting that fan fiction is for fun and authors don't owe you anything to make it different from the show. if you want something different from the show, then unfortunately you're going to have to write it yourself otherwise than just don't read the books. Because I feel like you don't enjoy them. If you're just gonna add them to a list and forever, forget about them. 

Wow, not even subtle, "pretty poison - e. moskowitz" first three chapters of real 'content' are just copy pasted from the first season of the show verbatim, like carbon copies. And people on this thread wondered why there's any 'pigeon holing' these fics into the same genre.

Apparently it's so hard to "incorporate characters" but it'd probably be a lot easier if people wouldn't just copy every line of dialogue straight from the show for every chapter like the very *first* fanfic I see listed (7 things - Robby Keene). Yeah.

As listed already on my profile there is no 'pigeon holing' or 'asshole' ness from this legitimate constructive criticism, I aim for quality fanfics on this site like any other (wow shocking on Wattpad I know) and will hold any I read to that standard.
          
          Cobra Kai had heart and originality and comedy, anything this fics write that is remotely 'original' tends to be derivative rom com stuff. And people are shocked in the comments here thinking I just 'pigeon hole' and read the description, no I check the first few and last few chapters always to see if anything improves or if they come up with original plotlines that are *new* and *good*....
          
          Spoilers, anything I do find. There aren't. Only two fanfics that appeared like these 'thirst' fics at first actually tended to be decently, quality, creative fics were about Kwon Jae-Sung. They weren't the best but they were actually decent. So yeah.

Last fanfic I read 'Paper Rings' had the first two chaps include dialogue verbatim from the Cobra Kai show. There is no originality there, if you're just copy pasting the plot and then adding a plotline aside where the mc/self insert/oc just falls in love with the mc there's no creativity/writing quality or originality there. Fanfiction requires both the 'fan' aspect of writing where you take elements from the original show, and the 'fiction' where you create your own story that actually differs from the events of the original show/medium you adapt and gives readers something interesting and of note.
          
          There's nothing here but thirst for the mcs from the Cobra Kai show, these are basically just thirst-fics. The most recent chapter as well just had the main characters interact the exact same way like they already did in the show, might as well watch the original show but every few minutes pause the show and imagine there's a famous actor you pretend yourself to be have one of the mcs (Tory/Hawk/Robby/Miguel etc...) fall in love with them off screen. Same thing, no difference.

no hate but just so you know fanfics tend to follow the story that they’re based on because the writer likes a show and wanted to add to it :) there’s no need for hate and to put people’s work down because it follows along with a story when that’s exactly what they set out to do. I’d recommend actually reading the stories before putting them into a list like that and going into it positively cause I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by people’s “paper thin” characters :) 

I'm not trying to be rude, especially because other people have been messaging you about this, but what's the deal with this list? It seems like you're just adding everything labeled Cobra Kai to this list. I'm not claiming my writing is anywhere near perfect because I write as a hobby, not a profession, but what's the point of just adding fics to this list instead of actually reading or in the case you do read the fics, contacting the writer to talk about what you feel is "wrong" with their work?
          
          I'd actually really like some tips, but a list like this just feels like putting people's work down.

i think youre forgetting that people are not paid to write fanfics… they do it on their own free time because they enjoy writing things for others. adding them to a list where you insult their writing/ocs is rly shitty ! its not “constructive criticism” its just you being an asshole : /
