Howdy everyone,

I have an quite an announcement to make. Unfortunately, it is not great news. I would like to shed light on my darkened hiatus.

My personal life got in the way of many of my hobbies, of which I had to set aside. For most of spring and summer, I was unable to touch the anticipated sequel “We Are Family.” On top of it all, I was unable to watch “The Lion Guard” and have not seen since mid-way through Season 2. This means I was missing a good half of the cannon story and took a lot of Wikipedia time to catch up.

I have overcome many obstacles. I have taken my grades seriously, I am more positive about myself, and I am still determined to finish my stories. However, this new challenge seems to be a roadblock that I can not simply overcome.

With the supposed Fall of Scar, the growth the characters have undergone, Janja changing affiliation for the good guys, many already set plot points in the “We Are…” series have dissolved away, not to mention the outline for “We are Family” I had already completed MONTHS ago.”

Character personalities, adjusted for new story developments, even did weeks of online research of real life animals to mimic the field research Disney productions do, I have tried incredabily hard to make the events of the “We Are…” series seem as if they could have ACTUALLY happened in between episodes. I truly believe that is the reason why the series received such surprising amount of popularity.

So this begs a question I must ask all of you: What do I do? I desire to keep the story as I have written it, but it veers off on its own endeavors. Do I finally just declare the story an Alternate Universe? Do I try my best to re-write the whole series? This is a problem I face and requires a sacrifice either way.

Regardless, I have taken a lot of your time. I apologize for that and for being gone for quite a while. I shall end it here an quickly before I go on for too long.

          	Sincerely, Derpyforever

@Derpyforever I would recommend an A/U. I ran into a very similar scenario with my own Jasiri/Kion story. Trust me, you have people who are still more than anyicipating your stories. An A/U is your best option. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and I think you should continue your writing. I'm not sure what else to say but this is what I can give you.

@Derpyforever I think you just declare it an alternate universe. If you wish to keep it the way you planned it, then this is probably the best way. I'm eager to read more of your stories. They're really good.
