I just need to vent real quick about something that is constantly popping up in fanfictions I've been reading. If you decide to add a LGBTQIA+ character to your book, don't over emphasize the fact the character is gay. This includes saying stuff like the character is "gay-looking", and constantly pointing out to people that they're gay without out giving us a reason to believe they are. It's also very ignorant and disrespectful to try and use a sexuality as an insult.
It really destroys the mood and vibe of a story that could've been really good. I've stopped reading two fanfictions today because of this. It's harmful and makes people doubt themselves. It's a horrible way of thinking and just bad writing. Please be careful of how you write your stories and insults, you just end up hurting your readers and your view count.
Thanks for hearing me out, I'm going to go update some of my books now!
