Hello, today is the day Dear Evan Hansen closes on Broadway and i couldn't be more saddened. I an so thankful to say that I've seen the show before it closes and it will still be my comfort musical for forever. This show is such a comfort to me and to many others and has brought the light to so many dark times in my life. I remember the first time I listened to the show. It was right after an argument with my dad in 2018 and I just felt so alone. On a Spotify recommended, I listened to the song and at that point tears were about to spill from my eyes and at the line, ''I know someone who needed to hear this today. Thank you Evan Hansen for doing what you're doing.'' In that moment, I started crying. Like the kind where you have no voice for there rest of the day and where you run out of breath. And so much more. I can't tell how much this show has been a comfort to me. Last year my friend was listening to Sincerely, Me on the school chromebook and lightly singing along to it and drawing Connor. I walked over to them and now they're one of my closest friends that I love so much. Thank you, Evan Hansen. Thank you all the collaborators who worked on the show for years and years and for every Alana, Zoe, Jared, Connor, Cynthia, Larry, Heidi, and Evan. Thank you to all the scenic designers and musicians. Writing this alone has me on the brink of tears. Thank you. Thank you for giving me another reason to wake up, for a reason to smile or to laugh, thank you for helping me when I needed it without you even knowing it. I love Dear Evan Hansen and always will and I can't wait for the future of the show. I will always be listening to the show.
Sincerely, Me
