Take your time in holding your breath and close your eyes. Suck in the air for five seconds. Catch a star no bigger than your fingernail and keep it in your hands for a long while. It takes its time in peeking from the shadows of your hands. It wants to come out but it can't. Not yet.
It needs to wait a second. It needs to wait an hour. It needs to wait a week. It needs to wait a year. You'll be holding onto that star for quite some time. That star needs to grow. You're hands are the obstacles and the star is the goal.
Your fingers are the feelings clawing at the goal. The feelings the keep the goal from being set free. You want the star to glow but the star can't.
You let go of your breath. The star has aged a million centuries in eight seconds. You let the breath fly from your lips for four seconds and your fingers unlatch, the shadows of your palms breaking apart. The star that once was no bigger than your fingernail is a glowing sun, it's gentle rays filling the sky. Your goal was set free in a moment of silence.
The feelings that once were crawling up your back have gone. The monsters that long for you have turned to jelly underneath the star.
I believe in you. You will believe in yourself.
You will believe in others. Others will believe in themselves.
Others will believe in others. Those others will believe in themselves.
So goes the chain that a measly little me has started.
It all starts.
With a star the size of a fingernail.
My name is Lydia and I am a writer. I have been a writer for five years or so. I would write inspirational stories with too good to be true endings. I have now changed my goal to making stories to be inspired over, to cry over, to be mad over, to be passionate over, and to love over.
I love writing. It is my passion and I hope to become a world-renounced author. For now, I am me. "Me" is going to write a book. "Me" is going to fail. "Me" is going to try over and over again. "Me" will make it somehow.
  • My location is the sky. Sky's the limit.
