For all my American followers (or nonAmerican, that’s cool too) I’m in need of y’all’s help. I’m writing a story where not only is the American flag changed but so is the national anthem. I need y’all’s help to find a new American national anthem or write a new one.
The rules for the national anthem are (there aren’t many):
- must be completely inclusive of all Americans (PoC, disabled, LGBTQIA+, women, etc)
- preferably has no mention of god since Catholicism and Christianity aren’t the only religion practiced in America
- have fun, maybe even have the writer/creators a PoC to support them
If y’all could do that I’d appreciate it. So far one of my favorite songs I’ve seen as a possibility is Uptown Funk. But there’s also Real American and others. What do y’all think?

I’m just working on a 100,000+ fanfic I’m probably never going to publicly publish because it’s a fandom probably no one here is in and I don’t want to publish a story no one is going to read/lose people because I’m posting for a different fandom!
(The story has already surpassed 20,000 words bordering on 30,000+ and it’s not even close to being done)
But I’m having fun!
