Thought I owed you an explanation on the comments I left on your story,
Bound and Broken: "Maya's Story".
I meant every word I wrote, but that said, I meant nothing derogatory towards your writing. Quite the opposite actually! I have had the luck lately to come across a few stories where a character has just grabbed me, and Kayla was one of them. She was amazingly written. So so tragic yet not at all maudlin or weepy, but a wonderfully constructed doomed heroine! She captured my heart. One of those instances where it was obvious she would come to a sad end, but you just kept hoping she would make it through to win her freedom. Which she did eventually, just not quite in the way one was wishing for it. As much as Kayla, captured my heart, Maya got my disgust and loathing!
A perfectly written villian with no redeeming values. Though several times you take her character to the very edge of proving that assumption wrong, she always underscores
how heartless, self absorbed and amoral she is. One can only hope eventually Maya gets as good as she has given.
I am obviously a reader not a writer, but I hope that this might explain where I was coming from?
