Hello there! It's time for the brand-new weekly update for how the fic writing is going that I'll probably forget about and never do again!
I've got half of my RWBY timeline sorted out, though I've stumbled on an issue that other writers probably have found with RWBY in particular, the timeline.
Or more specifically, the LACK of a timeline.
I've got it narrowed down to two options: 1, completely disregard real-world school years and just say Volumes 1, 2 and 3 take place over an entire year, then have a timeskip to the start of Volume 4, their arrival at Haven happening a year after the Fall of Beacon, Volume 5 happening over about a month, then Volumes 6, 7 and 8 (the training arcs and the three days that is volume 8) happening over another couple of months. All in all, from the start of Volume 1 to the end of Volume 8, there should be around 3 years for me to play with, give or take a couple months.
Or option 2, have volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 happen in about a year and a half, followed by volumes 7 and 8 stretching to maybe 2 years in total on Remnant.
I'm honestly leaning more towards option 1, to give the team more time to bond and become believably close to one another. Also to make Izuku into an absolute beast, but who cares about that when you've got found!family fluff?!
I've already planned his signature weapons and Semblance, and come up with more stuff for Aura to do (you know, the thing that literally uses the SOUL as a power-source?!) than just 'hehe, forcefield'.
.... Okay, it's just 'hehe, malleable forcefield', but it's still an improvement!
Last question, what do you guys think about ships? Because on one hand, I'm kinda leaning Izuku/Blake, but a speedster duo has been peaking my interest lately.... Let me know what your thoughts are!
