Hi and welcome,

I am human and share my life with animals (human and otherwise). Always remaining close to nature; accordingly live in one of the most beautiful places on earth - the Klein Karoo, on the continent of Africa, South Africa. My cottage nestles on the side of a hill, the verandah, overlooks a valley, through which flows a gurgling river, the banks lined with reeds that rustle in the wind. The  magnificent sunsets, reflect amber, red and gold,  glinting off the  cliffs. These ancient cliffs are scored with crevasses of, brown, orange and pinkish white stone, offset by the green and burnt brown of rugged small trees and  plants that struggle to survive in the barron hard soil. The night sky is a marvel to behold; sparkling stars spangled against an inky black sky. The silence of early evening is celestially still. Survival here is only for the fittest. Isolation which is intensified when the river floods and during droughts has to be borne with fortitude. The reward for this endurance is an exquisite beauty; nature at her best and worst. It is a place that fires the imagination and gives a peace that is rare in this busy life of the 21st century. My home.

I enjoy writing about the ordinary, everyday lives of humans and animals. That which makes our lives worthwhile and livable. 

At present I am working on "Luella's War", set in the American Civil War. An ordinary life but full of adventure and courage. 

The short story should be ready shortly. I would appreciate your comments and encouragement. We can work together on historical fiction.
