Exciting Update for The Merman’s Calling!

The story is almost complete! Just 4–5 more chapters to go, and I’ll do my best to update daily so you won’t have to wait too long!

If you’ve enjoyed the journey so far, consider checking out my website and supporting me. I’ll be editing this book soon—fixing plot holes, polishing the story, and preparing it for official publication. Every bit of support helps me bring you a beautiful, finished book… and your copy can be one of the first!

And yes! The saga isn’t over, I’m already planning Book Three!

Thank you all so much for reading, sharing, and being part of Aria’s adventure. Your support means the world!

Which story do you want next?

          Glitchmind:

One island. One survivor. Twenty-six steps to uncover the truth. Run and rise - before time runs out and Z is reached.

When journalist Mira awakens on the shore of a mysterious artificial island, her memories are gone. Armed with only her instincts, she must survive an environment that seems both abandoned and strangely alive. Something is watching her. Something ancient and mechanical. As Mira pieces together flashes of her past and explores the ruins of a failed utopia, she discovers the island's terrifying secret-and the monstrous biomech creature guarding it.

          Or

          Becoming Akwirase: (native American story)
She left as Mary. She returned as Akwirase.
Captured in the chaos of frontier life, sixteen-year-old Mary Whitcomb is taken from her English settlement and thrust into a world that is as foreign as it is alive with spirit and tradition. Her only goal is to protect Clara, a child who becomes her tether to the past. But as days turn into seasons and Mary begins to understand the rhythms of the Mohawk village-the language, the customs, the quiet dignity of a people long misunderstood-something inside her begins to shift.
And then there is Tewanias, the young warrior whose steady presence unsettles her heart and forces her to ask: where is home, and who is she now?
Torn between two worlds, Mary must choose between the life she was born into and the life she has grown to love.
But in a time of deep cultural divide, no choice is without cost.
Becoming Akwirase is a sweeping tale of identity, love, survival, and the quiet courage it takes to become who you were meant to be.

@DinjaHoitink honestly both stories are cool in a sense both almost match with and I don't mean to be indifferent or offend like the merman duology you have been making with newer twists and turns to each honestly my guess would be whichever one you like the most (p.s) the native American story may have just be a contender for a insperation along with god of war and maybe the aztecs but I don't post stories I just draw characters) anywho, see ya on the flip side

I need HELP!!!!!!

Hi everyone!!! So I’ve been working on a few different stories. The first one you probably all know as im working on the Mermans Calling (book 2 of the merman’s hold) now honestly im struggling a bit with this book. Not really sure why. I have the idea and semi motivation (maybe that’s the biggest problem) but yeah just struggling to write it. But i have also recently been working on 2 other novels. Both stand alone stories… I would like you help to tell me if you’re interested in me uploading another book!

The first book is Glitchmind. In short a girl is stranded on a strange uninhabited island with no memory and a strange creature. There is Danger and an obsessive love. Will she get off the island?
Also this book has a fun challenge for my self, see if you can figure it out. Here is a hint: it has 26 steps and so i plan to make this book 26 chapters long.

The other book i have is a Native American story. Becoming Akwirase. A young white girl is kidnapped by native (as it does…) she navigates the life of a captive adopted white woman and perhaps find love too.

Let me know if you would like more information on either of both of these as i can put their official blurbs in a new message. But please do help me!!!

          Love, Dinja

Hey everyone!

Due to popular demand, I’m so excited to announce that the sequel to The Merman’s Hold will be released tomorrow evening! ✨

Some of you may already know, but outside of writing I’m currently in basic training for the military, on my way to becoming a petty officer and eventually an army nurse (I’m already a nurse, so this is the next big step!). I’m nearing the end of training—about 14 weeks left—but this stage is the toughest. Any injury now would set me back months, so it’s all or nothing.

In two weeks, I’ll be going completely off-grid for an important exam. For two weeks straight it’ll be little sleep, little food, no showers, and a whole lot of physical and mental challenges. Honestly, I’m a bit nervous about it, but I’m determined to push through.

In the meantime, I’ve been working hard on drafts for Book 2. I’ll refine the first chapter and post it here on Monday. After that, updates might come a little slower because of training—but now you know the reason why!

If you’d like to support me and make all this hard work worth it, you can also grab a physical copy of The Merman’s Hold through my website. Your support truly means the world to me, especially during this busy and challenging time.

Thank you all for being patient and for loving Aria and Kaelen’s story as much as I do!

How’s everyone doing?

I had so much fun releasing The Merman’s Hold as a paperback — it’s been such a dream come true! Have you checked out my website yet?

✨ Book 2 is in the works, don’t worry! BUT… as some of you know, I’ve joined the defence force this year, and life has gotten a bit hectic (read: crazy busy). So the first chapters might take a little longer to appear than planned.

In the meantime, if you’ve enjoyed the story and want to support me as a writer (and reader in uniform ;) ), you can grab your own copy of The Merman’s Hold on my website. It really helps me continue doing what I love — and I’ve got so many new ideas brewing for future books!

Thanks for sticking with me — your support means the world!

          Stay salty,
          Dinja
