@MeliodasGirl that was still incredibly rude. You may have your opinion, and that's fine, but if you want to express that, talk about it with your best friend at a sleepover. Don't PM the author and tell her all these awful things. And when the author wants to reply, don't get mad and say they were attacking you because you said something first. You were the one to PM her, you were the one to put down the author and her story, and you were the one to start everything. Just because the author didn't sit there and say nothing doesn't mean you were "verbally attacked" it just means you weren't ready to take some criticism back. As Brendon Urie once sang "If you wanna start a fight you better throw the first punch. Make it a good one." And that's exactly what you did. But when the author punched back you weren't ready. That doesn't make you the victim.

I needed to share my opinion, she relentlessly attacked me verbally, I was done, she was not. We couldn't come to a compromise, so in return I blocked her.
