Before I get to the heavy, I am working on another part to the Harry Potter, it will be Wolfstar, it's just a struggle to find the motivation to work on it when I'm cooped up in bed with a broken ankle.
On to the real problem, I have noticed something recently and it honestly really sucks. There seems to be this double standard here when it comes to the creativity of an author. I've noticed that some shippings that are deemed "acceptable" and some that "aren't". It really sucks that readers or other authors can attack someone for their work. Nobody should ever feel they can't continue one of their masterpieces because of someone else's words.
I'm going to be the one to state an "unpopular" opinion, and I'll be devastated to lose anyone of my followers because of it but it needs to be brought up. If it's perfectly fine to make a straight character bi/gay then what is the problem with making a gay character bi or any other sexuality? I see no problem with choosing to change a character to fit your fanfiction. It's not really that big of a deal, if you don't like the fanfiction then just don't read it. I mean when I stumble on things I don't like I just delete it from my reading list and continue about my day.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day or night to read my rant. It's just that problems like this make it hard for me to enjoy this app anymore. Archive of our own isn't this bad, so if I continue to see this problem happening to people, I'll switch all of my works over and delete this app.
