@DjordjeMilutinovic -- Though I've done some research for his character as I'm big on research (especially medically related) I haven't pinned down precisely what's going on with Jeff mental-wise. Since you brought it up I checked out a couple sites discussing the symptoms/causes of antisocial personality disorder and though he has some of the symptoms I don't think it's enough for him to be diagnosed with it. Then looked up bipolar and those with a narcissistic personality, but they don't quite fit him either.
Here's the thing about Jeff. He means well. At least he thinks he means well. He can be charming, sweet and thoughtful when that other side of him doesn't emerge. He has few friends, but he gets along well with them. His patients (if you'll recall he's an ER nurse) think he's great. He has a good, strong work ethic, he takes care of the home inherited upon the deaths of his parents, he and Ellie share cooking/cleaning responsibilities, he pays the bills on time etc. If (and I know this is an enormous if) if he could resist being inappropriate with his sister, he'd be a decent man, guardian and big brother. That giant flaw makes him a monster.
