Hey friend, just in case you haven't started on my Allister x Hoppy request yet: maybe Simon, Icky and Kickin' could be the sorta antagonists of the oneshot at first(because why should the laziest critter find love, but not them)? But when a huge argument is threatening to break out in a huge fight (Allister against Simon + Icky and Hoppy against Kickin'), all the others would come and stand up for the two, bringing the Happy ending. And when they see actually how great Allister and Hoppy are together, the three come to apologize as well. 
          Just another idea in case you haven't thought of anything yet^^
