So Hatano was originally a pretty nice fucking kid before he pricked his finger and became a prick, wanted to settle down and become a father, unfortunately, it didn't help him that he had been more than rejected once and had been harassed (Sexually, once) and bullied by Christopher and his league of friends since the 7th grade. So you can tell that his sanity would slowly degrade after being infected with a faulty formula that slowly removed any empathy and sympathy he had for human life.
          
          He didn't give a fuck about Christopher. The side effects of the formula that made Christopher attracted to Hatano did all the work for him, and he manipulated and abused his husband just like Christopher did all those years ago.
          He didn't even plan on having a baby- He only designed one via complicated DNA designing. Think of it as "Build-A-Baby". They never had sexual intercourse, because Hatano believed that Christopher was absolute human filth. He pretended to love him because he knew that after Christopher had pretended to commit suicide to escape from his homophobic family and friends that he had nothing. Nothing except DIMENTOS and his husband. So when Hatano finally left him to attempt to survive, Christopher realized.
          
          Christopher didn't get lost- He stayed there because the person that he thought loved him didn't. It was suicide.
          
          Hatano is single-handedly one of the most monstrous employees in the history of DIMENTOS, more so than Wunder, even purging and genociding entire dimensions, including wiping out other versions of himself because he was a narcissist and believed that he was the supreme.
