          The sounds of the outside birds and cars are snuffed out by the tune of Onitsuka Chihiro's best hits quietly playing from a boxy CD player, left sitting alone on the room's desk. In the desk's chair, sits another girl, lacking her own hand of cards and watching the other players. 
          -
          "Yeah, but I got so scared I screamed, knocked into Meru and Kei's parents' vase and broke it!! I really don’t wanna do that again." Hajimeru nods with Kioku’s statement.
          -
          "Oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh… Fine!!! We'll do it." Hajimeru slaps the desk near Kei and rattles everything on it. "But only to prove you wrong!!!"

          "But I'm not! It's always dumb Betsu that makes all this nonsense up! I bet if ghosts were real I could beat em' up, and send them crying back into their little hidey hole!" Hajimeru taunts, rocking her head back and forth like a bobble head.

          Minya remains fully awake, despite it being already past her usual bedtime, so she stays aware of the dark as a different feeling to the light.

          Surely that keyboard is hidden somewhere in Kei's room and Minya just hasn't gone in there yet, because she can tell from its size that it's not something you lose track of.

          "Um, I went into a store and didn't realise the bus was leaving until I got out." Minya fiddles with her fingers in the dark, only feeling them and not quite seeing them.
          
          "Rookie error." Kei replies.
          
          "I also…" She stops herself and brushes the incident off as irrelevant. "Actually, nevermind."

          "How on Earth do you know them if they're all the way back at Setegaya and you live here in Suginami?" Minya questions, surprised.
          
          "Word of mouth I guess…" Kei unsurely answers. The two stop talking while they surmount the last of the steps. "I'm not actually sure how I know to be honest…"

          "Wait. Where's Kioku…?" Hajimeru asks out of the blue.

          I'm of course still aware of how f*cking dumb I look, but as long as they don't break out their pitchforks, I think we'll have won here.
          
          One of the Sackbots tries to talk back to him, getting rudely cut off as the supervisor clicks a device in his hand.
          
          Turning the page over, the two districts here are Centorium and Sciend. Whoever got hired to create these names needs to lose their job, because I'm not even sure how they relate to anything.
          
          "Good day." States 4663, in a lower voice than normal. As the robot passes directly by us, the garbled and unintelligible speech reverts for a second.
          
          We cross the street yet again, in the same state as the opposite one we crossed previously, continuing straight behind the growing crowd. A short wheezy breath escapes my mouth as I struggle to keep up and dodge naive, bratty little kids who think that I'm gonna spare them if they push me over. 
          
          The date just below the clock on the billboard is the 21st of September, 9 'PR'. I've seen those 'PR' and 'BR' abbreviations before, I'm sure. Though I still don't understand what they stand for. In whatever case, I definitely don't think they mean purple and blue retards.
          
          I didn't think this day could get any stranger, but here we are.
          
          It's coming pretty soon. Get ready. For the longest Chapter I've ever written.
