First of all, I apologize to the readers of Story of a Whiterose, I promise I will return to it soon. I have just been hit with a serious creative block these last few months that has made it pretty difficult to get any work done on any of my projects!
That said I am hoping to post the next chapter this weekend and the final chapter not to long after that so if you are still hanging around then first of all I thank you and I promise to give you an ending to the story sooner than later!
Second, I am planning to do more writing but I will be doing less fanfic in the future. That doesn't mean I won't occassionally do a short story or one off here and there BUT I am shifting focus to my original stories I feel I have been putting them off for to long and want to really get started on them in earnest!
My first original story, title is tbd, will start being posted fairly soon. It's the story of a human warrior and an elf mage brought together by fate and their growing party as they travel the land (there is a bit more to it but that's a pretty basic summary) I hope to start posting chapters for that fairly soon but I have hit a bit of a snag.
I'm kinda stuck on something. It's probably the biggest sticking point at the moment. Sure I am struggling with the characters, their backstories and the world building but what is stalling me up the most is whether to write the story in first or third person.
You see I have read a fair amount of stories in first person that I really enjoy and it's what I personally have the most experience with BUT I also see the benefits of third person story telling.
In this specific case if I was to write it in first person it would jump between a few prominent characters in the story and it wouldn't just be from the POV of ONE character.
Would you rather read that or a more traditional third person narrarator type story? Genuine question with no right answer I just want some feed back.
