James Douglas Wallace has been writing and editing for over twenty-five years. He has worked as an engineer and executive in computer and network security. Naturally, his head is in the stars. His stories range from speculative fiction, to space-opera sci-fi, to dystopian romance, to epic fantasy. He has published several short stories in anthologies and literary journals.
Serious writing began after being selected to attend a week-long writing intensive with the great Orson Scott Card. "Fire of the Fallen" is a direct result of a challenge issued by Card to write a fantasy novel.
 Doug has four children (his muses) and lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. When not writing, he can be found hiking around the peaks of the Wasatch Front.
