this is written my someone on a server i am, so full credit goes to them:

Hello everyone, in light of recent events, I am going to make a statement regarding transphobia.

I first want to apologize to everyone who has been affected by this. I want you to know that you are not alone, and if you have something you would like to talk to someone about, my DMs are always open. Personally, I have gone through this, as well as my friends. So, this is not something we should take lightly.
The literal meaning of transphobia is to be scared (phobia) of transgender people. Most of the time, we are scared of what we do not know. In this instance, people do not understand the struggles of trans people or why this happens.

          extremely brief overview of transphobia:
Unfortunately, there are some who are not scared of trans people but still do not like us. Now, apart from hatred, transphobia can lead to physical harm. It has always been extremely dangerous living as a transgender person. Some people nowadays still do not want to accept the mere existence of us. The current situation for trans people, legally and physically, is extremely horrid. Examples of this would be the recent Alabama outlaw, lack of service protection, and dangers of coming out to your family. This proves that it is extremely difficult and dangerous, living as a trans person (excluding what the next section will explain).

concl.
~To conclude this statement, I am going to talk about what is an appropriate way to speak on issues and help the trans community. One thing I notice is that people not in the minority make conclusions and tell the people in the minority how to feel. Even if you are trying to protect said minority group, it silences their voices and opinions.

If you take anything away from this statement, I want it to be that it is extremely inappropriate to have a debate about minority issues with a minority when you are not apart of the said minority group

When someone is speaking about their experiences, you listen.

Now, if you are cis there are things you can and should do (if it is safe to do so) to help the trans community. The main thing you can do to help is to not make snap judgments of someone’s sexual orientation. Everyone has a different story, you never know what someone else is going through. In the end, we are all in this together, so respect and try to understand the ones around you and be open to change.

being mocked on social media pt 1:
~Whenever something is becoming normalized in society, the amount of public hatred increases as well. On top of the direct physical violence mentioned in the previous paragraph, there is also direct mental violence. For example, when people started putting their pronouns in their social media bios, trolls decided to hop on and mock the trans community with things such as “nor/mal” and “im a guy ” This isn’t something new, however, as the attack helicopter jokes have existed on the internet for a while. One common occurrence is that these people will try everything to mock the trans community. To answer the question, yes it is VERY transphobic as it makes us look bad and can make us feel as though we are not valid people.

mocked on social media pt 2:
~Another thing that has started to spread on the internet is the super straight “sexuality.” This “sexuality” basically means that they are only attracted to biologically born people of the opposite sex. In other words, they created a sexuality to invalidate trans people. As I’ve seen, some may not understand why it is such a horrible thing to do, as it could be seen as preference. However, seeing how hard it is to even feel comfortable in your skin as a trans person, this creates another unnecessary burden. Almost every reasoning behind wanting to identify as super straight is either invalid, can be countered, or just plain transphobic. The amount of hatred online is sickening. And unfortunately, it is becoming more normalized. There is no reason to be transphobic or to go out of your way to make us feel awful.
