So I know this is coming out of nowhere and, uh, I know I'm technically late to the party by about 10 months but I just finished watching Joker: Folie à Deux..
I might get crucified for it, but.. I actually enjoyed it.
Now don't get me wrong, the first is still far better. But watching through the sequel, I just didn't understand all the hate. I genuinely couldn't stop smiling with how much I was enjoying much to my surprise. And I absolutely fucking adored the songs. Every single one of them! Hell, I can't get '(They Long to Be) Close to You' by Carpenters out of my head!
For me, the original movie is a 9.7/10. The sequel to me is a solid 8/10.
I mean the only reason, for me at least, that it didn't get a higher score is purely last 5-10 minutes. Though that wasn't because I hated it, it just made me sad as shit.
And in spite of that, I still kinda wanna rewatch it.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by this though. There are other movies people generally disliked that I enjoyed, and even the other way with movies people love that I just don't like.
People having differing opinions is the way of the world though, I guess.
...That's Life.
