Here’s a list of banned books YOU NEED TO READ. I know these books are old and might be boring but I promise you they are worth owning and reading. And I’m gonna only list the ones I’ve read when I was young so I speak from experience. Animal farm/ George Orwell/ ages 11 and up. The handmaids tale/ Marget Atwood/ ages 16 and up (but personally I think it should be 17 or 18 and up) Fahrenheit 451/ Ray Bradbury/ ages 13 and up Of mice and men / John Steinbeck/ ages 13 and up (the ending WILL make you cry) Now here’s a small list of banned books I haven’t read so I can’t give you my honest opinions if you ask me. These books are not recommend for young audiences but are a list of banned books you are free to read at your own time. The bluest eye/ Toni Morrison The hate you give/ Angie Thomas The catcher and the rye/ J.D Salinger Beloved/ Toni Morrison I know why the caged bird sings/ Maya Angelou The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank Parable of the sower / Octavia E. Butler If Beale street could talk /James Baldwin The Coin /Yasmin Zaher Harvest / Jim Crace 1984 / George Orwell The grapes of wrath/ John Steinbeck Now here’s a smalllist of children books that has been or is banned in specific places in America Harry Potter And tango makes three The giver The giving tree (…what?) The Lorax (really??) Itty-bitty kittycorn Christian the hugging lion Sylvester and the magic pebble The call of the wild Captain underpants (XD) Chronicles of narnia (okay why thou??) Brown bear brown bear, what do you see (….I’m sorry?) This is just a tiny fraction of banned books. I’ll let you read them to see if a ban is justified but in all honestly I feel like I’m surrounded by idiots.
