Today I was sitting in class, hoping we would get out early enough for me to grab something to eat before my next class. My biggest concerns were trying to find time to study this weekend for an upcoming Spanish test and lab practical. Then everything changed. A classmate said that he received a Maroon alert that there was an active shooter in the building right next to ours. Needless to say my worries immediately changed. Luckily no one was hurt and after the longest, scariest hour of lockdown we were free to go. As we were leaving people thought they heard gunshots and started running/screaming I truly believed I was running for my life as I tried to seek shelter. Once again, everyone was safe and we were cleared to leave. All of this to say, you never know when or where your last minutes will be, so do not wait until tomorrow or next week, or a year from now to change or to live. But most importantly, do not wait to be sure of your salvation. I am a Christian and I believe that God was watching over us today. I realized just how fleeting life is and the most import thing is coming to know Christ and doing God's will for your life. As shaken as I am from this experience, I am grateful that I was given this wake up call and allowed the opportunity to truly follow after Christ. I will no longer hold back, or be afraid to tell others about my Lord and savior
