Why do so many authors put books on hold because like 98% of them never continue them. If you have an answer please let me know because some of them are books that I want to read but can't because I don't want to read a book without an end

I'm going to need a little help coming up with names for some of the characters and the schools in my book. It's probably going to be one of the most cliche stories ever but I would really appreciate some help. The book is going to be about a school with basically every mythical creature I can think of and one special girl (Madalynn/ the main character) who can control and gain new powers the more she learns how to control her first one. There will be elementals, werewolves, witches, etc. and her friend Jayson will be helping her on her quest and teaching her some of the things needed to know in order to finish said quest. I haven't decided what her first power will be or if I'm going to make a second book. I thought I would let you guys decide considering you might read it. I don't want to post the book until it's finished so I have time to edit and make sure I like the way it's going because I don't want to say that I'll be on a specific updating schedule, then forget to write till the day I'm supposed to upload the chapter but I hope I get it done soon. Thank you all and I hope I'll be able to incorporate all of your ideas.

It would also help me, I could get inspiration to write some new poems from reading your book. :) I'm sure it'll be a great story, although I've never read a story with werewolves & vampires, so I'm sure I could pitch you some different ideas :) pm me!
