For as long as I can remember, I've been making up stories. From a very early age I was encouraged by my mum, a fellow author, and my dad, an engaging storyteller.

At the time, I didn't understand why all my childhood friends grew out of playing imaginary games so quickly. While their interests grew and evolved, I was still pretending to be a princess, a ninja, a pirate or a superhero. At the time I thought there was something wrong with me. I didn't realize that all of that "play" was the beginning of my life as a writer.

My interest in writing quickly turned into a love for Fantasy. Authors such as J.R.R Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Megan Whalen Turner, Alison Croggon and many others inspired me to create my own fantasy world. When I was twelve, I named that world Rohedren and the name has stuck ever since.

Illustration came later when I really started to study drawing--when I discovered that I could sketch the characters I saw in my head. From there I designed characters, drew cartoons and painted landscapes. My love of art and illustration remains strong to this day.
